The big picture: Computer-generated animation hits new heights – with great new characters. For superdog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), the canine star of a hit TV show, every day is full of danger and intrigue – until the cameras stop rolling. When heʼs accidentally shipped from his Hollywood studio to New York City, Bolt sets out on a cross-country return trek, armed only with the delusion that his amazing powers are real. Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and Malcolm McDowell are among the other voice stars. Already a huge hit in the US, Bolt plays in cinemas everywhere and in digital 3D as available.

HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU (12A)
The big picture: Ensemble comedy, part shot in London, with inter-connecting stories played out by a top-flight cast including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly and Ben Affleck. Theyʼre all complex people with complex emotions, navigating the tricky terrain of relationships. Along the way, some marriages will end while others begin; old habits will be broken and new ones formed; but one thingʼs clear – if a manʼs not calling you, if heʼs married to someone else or sleeping with someone else, then the chances are heʼs just not that into you!

DOUBT (15)
The big picture: The Bronx, 1964. Charismatic Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman), is trying to change the strict customs at a school that are fiercely guarded by Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep). With the school accepting its first black student, Father Flynn and Sister Aloysius lock horns in a battle of wills that could have devastating consequences. This is a powerful mystery drama with the great Streep and Hoffman both on top form.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD (15)
The big picture: Action-packed ʻwesternʼ adventure complete with outlaws and treasure hunts. In the Manchurian desert of the 1930ʼs, fate brings together three men: a bounty hunter, a bandit group leader and a train robber with nine lives. One train robbery later and all three begin a frantic chase across Manchuria to take possession of a secret map. With the Japanese army and Asian bandits on their tail, an unpredictable and escalating battle for the map unfolds.

VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA (12A)
The big picture: Woody Allen returns to peak form with his latest comedy. Just as New York was the backdrop for his 1979 film, Manhattan, Barcelona is the stunning setting for the romantic adventures of Vicky (Rebecca Hall, a BAFTA Rising Star nominee) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson). Vicky is straight-laced and about to be married, while Cristina is a more adventurous free spirit. Spending a summer in Spain, the two friends meet a flamboyant artist (Javier Bardem) and his beautiful but tempestuous ex-wife (Penelope Cruz). The quartetʼs love lives soon become entangled with chaotic consequences.
