Dashcam footage shows the moment when a van drove into an ambulance.

A white van hit the ambulance at the A41 junction with Woodmere Avenue on January 15.

Police were called shortly after the incident at around 2.30pm.

Footage shows a private ambulance that was on its way to an emergency call in Edgware pulling out to the dual carriageway when a van on the main road collides with the ambulance, spinning it.

A London Ambulance Service Spokesperson said: 

“We were called at 2.31pm on 15 January to reports of a road traffic collision on the A41 near Watford, involving a van and a private ambulance responding to a London Ambulance Service emergency call.

“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer. Two people were assessed at the scene, and one was treated and taken to hospital."

The road was closed until 4pm that day to allow emergency services access and to clear the damaged vehicle.
