A man was arrested on Wednesday evening on suspicion of a number of offences.
There was a significant police presence in the Garston area after a driver failed to stop.
Police say officers tried to pull over a vehicle in St Albans Road at around 6pm but the driver ignored them.
The vehicle made off but the driver later ditched it and fled on foot.
With help from firefighters, who used a drone, a suspect was found in woodland off the A405.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and immigration offences.
He remains in police custody at this time.
The vehicle was recovered.
