IT is perhaps fitting that our final look back at the decade that saw the beginning of Watford's rise up the divisions coincides with the birthday of the architect of that football fairytale, Graham Taylor.
The Hornets' late, great manager would have turned 76 today and he is pictured with two players who played a significant part in the Hornets' back-to-back promotions from Division Four to Division Two at the end of the 1970s, Sam Ellis and Ian Bolton.
The man who brought Taylor to Vicarage Road, Elton John, once again features in our third and final selection of archive pictures from that decade that have been compiled with the help of the Watford Treasury.
