A man lost £350 after he was distracted by someone at a cash machine.

A member of the public was using the ATM outside Tesco Express in Tudor Parade, Mill End, at around 2pm on May 20.

As the man was using the ATM, police say he was approached by a man who tried to talk to him.

The victim ignored him and then an error message appeared on the ATM screen and he was unable to retrieve his bank card.

The victim, aged in his 30s, went inside the Tesco store to seek some help.

When the victim got home, he cancelled his bank card but was told by his bank that four transactions had been made using his card to a total of £350.

He has since been reimbursed by his bank.

Police have been investigating the distraction theft and are now in a position to release CCTV images of a man they believe can help with their enquiries.

"We would like to trace the person pictured as we believe they may have been in the area at the time of the offence and could have vital information for us.

"We understand that the images are not the highest quality however maybe you recognise the person’s stance or profile? Please get in touch if you can help."
