An Argos store is preparing for reopening next week, despite speculation it would shut.

The branch at Waterfields Retail Park will reopen next Wednesday (July 15), as part of the second phase in the Argos reopening plan.

It shut in line with government advice in March, but around 170 Argos stores across the country have reopened since June 15.

There was some speculation on social media suggesting that the store was in line to shut, but this is not the case.

A spokesperson from Argos said: "We also announced last week that we're working to reopen more stores this month as part of our phased approach.

"The Watford Argos store at Waterfields Retail Park will be included in this second phase and is due to reopen next week.

"The store is looking forward to welcoming back customers and colleagues."

The Argos branch inside the Sainsbury’s store at the Dome roundabout, North Watford, opened earlier during the lockdown.

An Argos collection point at the Sainsbury’s in Albert Road, Watford is also currently open.
