A seven-year-old is cycling five miles every day for two months to raise money for a cancer centre where her dad received treatment.

Olivia Alcorano, from Watford, is fundraising for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre located at Mount Vernon Hospital.

The centre is an independent medical imaging charity that specialises in cancer imaging.

Olivia chose to fundraise for the centre as her dad, Tino, was treated twice there for cancer.

Tino was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, he received chemotherapy but was then diagnosed again in 2014.

Tino has praised the centre staff for their support for him and his family during his treatment.

Olivia who learned to ride a bike during lockdown is now cycling five miles every day until September to raise money.

So far, she has raised more than £1000.

Tino said: "The centre has supported us as a family for the last 10 years and continues to do so.

"Olivia would like to say a huge thank you to the centre. She would also like to do this until she returns back to school to see how many people she can help and how much money she can raise.

"If you have a spare £1 we would love you to sponsor her in recognition of her huge achievement and dedication."
