Two more patients who tested positive for coronavirus have died at a hospital in west Hertfordshire, NHS figures released today show.

The first of these patients died on Sunday, and the second person passed away yesterday (Monday).

Both deaths were confirmed by West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust today and it takes the total number of coronavirus deaths at its hospitals to 363.

The two deaths reported today were among 37 new deaths reported by the NHS in England hospitals - with deaths occurring between March 27 and June 29.

The 37 patients were aged between 48 and 94, and all had known underlying health conditions except one 80-year-old patient.

Today's update from the NHS breaks a spell of 10 days in which West Hertfordshire NHS Trust had not reported any Covid-19 deaths.

Current NHS figures show there have been no coronavirus deaths at West Hertfordshire hospitals between June 19 and June 27.

In total in June, the hospital trust has reported 12 coronavirus deaths.

Cases

Eight new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Hertfordshire since our last update on Thursday June 25.

Six of these cases were identified between Thursday and Sunday.

The total number of confirmed cases in the county over the whole pandemic is 3,003.

More locally, and since our last update, one case has been identified in Watford - on Saturday - taking the number of cases over the whole pandemic in the town to 431.

Two have been identified in Three Rivers - on June 25 and June 26, with 270 in total across the district.

No new cases have been reported in Hertsmere with government data showing the last case in the borough was identified on June 23.

Hertsmere as a whole has had 404 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

One case was identified in St Albans on Sunday.

The district of St Albans and Harpenden has recorded a total of 380 cases.

One case was identified each day in Dacorum on June 24, 25, and 26.

Like St Albans, the borough has identified 380 cases in total.
