A police helicopter was deployed in the early hours after a group of men were reportedly seen with a gun.

Hertfordshire Constabulary was called at 12.45am this morning (June 10) to a report of suspicious activity in Broomfield Rise, Abbots Langley.

It was reported that a group of men had gathered outside a property and that an object - believed to be a firearm - had been seen.

With support from the police helicopter, officers attended and detained four people who were searched.

An address and a vehicle were also searched, but no weapon was found. Those detained were released.

Police are now carrying out follow up enquiries.
