The government is continuing to tell the British public to stay at home unless they have a genuine reason to leave their home - to get food, medicine, one form of exercise, or to go to work.

Today, a man from Kings Langley pleaded for the public to listen to the government advice after his 72-year-old mother died at a Bedfordshire hospital on Mother's Day.

She had contracted coronavirus.

Stephen Hunt, whose mother Doreen died, said:"We are saying to people to stop thinking that you are cleverer than the Government, and to follow their guidance - it is not a risk worth taking to ignore it.

"Everyone should follow the Government's advice as much as they can.

"Don't look for exceptions and be responsible."
