A councillor is calling for safety measures to be introduced at a "nightmare" junction on the edge of a village.
Aldenham parish councillor Przemek De Skuba is pressuring Hertfordshire County Council into take some action in Shenley Hill, on the outskirts of Radlett.
Cllr De Skuba, who was elected last May, has listed a number of reasons why he does not believe the road is as safe as it could be at the junction with The Avenue and Williams Way.
He said: "I live very close by and I'm concerned about the speed of vehicles travelling uphill and going through the crossroads. There is also a blind bend coming up the hill from Radlett. I've seen a collision here before.
"Dogwalkers and schoolchildren use this road but there is nowhere to cross - not even to get to the bus stops.
"We pay high council tax here. There must be somewhere safe to cross so people don't have to dodge cars."

Cllr De Skuba is not quite sure what is exactly needed but has suggested some traffic calming measures which could be introduced on the 30mph stretch of road.
This includes a zebra crossing or signalled pedestrian crossing, and a speed camera to slow down motorists travelling up the hill out of Radlett.
Cllr De Skuba added: "We know it's dangerous here. We have had enough feedback from people telling us it is.

Melvyn Allen, who lives off The Avenue, is supporting Cllr De Skuba's campaign.
He said: "I full-heartedly agree with the comments made by Cllr De Skuba. On numerous occasions, when exiting The Avenue, many cars travel up Shenley Hill at very fast speeds.
"Because of the bend in the road, they cannot be seen until almost too late, almost causing a collision on many occasions.
"When l first moved into Radlett in 1996, there were two speed bumps oin Shenley Hill which slowed the traffic down. Since these were removed a few years later, pulling out of The Avenue or Williams Way has become a nightmare.
"Some form of speed calming exercise is imperative."
