A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the leg.

Police were called to Withy Place, How Wood, at around 6.15pm yesterday (Sunday).

A man was found with injuries to his leg.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Police were called by the ambulance service at around 6.15pm on Sunday January 5, to report that they were responding to an incident in Withy Place.

"It was discovered that a man had sustained injuries to his leg, believed to be stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening."

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called yesterday (January 5) to a road near Park Street, with reports of a person with a stab wound.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and an ambulance crew.

"One patient was assessed at the scene and taken to hospital for further treatment."

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
