Xisco Munoz insists he is not paying any attention to Watford's promotion rivals, despite their form strengthening his side's position in the table.

The Hornets currently sit in second place and, despite their winning streak coming to an end against Middlesbrough yesterday, they still extended their lead over Swansea City, who scored a late own goal to lose at home to Preston.

Brentford's game tonight will be of great interest to Watford fans, who will be hoping to see the Bees slip up once again, with the London side having not won any of their last three matches.

Elsewhere, Norwich City are also playing tonight, and with the gap between Watford and the league leaders narrowing on Friday, that may be a game worth paying attention to as well.

Nevertheless, Munoz insists his focus is solely on his own team and that he is not thinking about things he cannot control.

“I don’t think about the others," he said. "We will see what happens after. The most important thing is we have found focus and power in our team. We have a very good challenge. We have great ambition.

“From the first day we have been positive. Step by step we are working. The first step is to get the play-off positions, then the second aim is to get second place and the next aim is to get the top position."
