West Ham United are hopeful of making Craig Dawson's loan move from Watford permanent at the end of the season.

The defender scored the winning goal in the Hammers' FA Cup match away at Stockport County last night and has also impressed in recent Premier League performances.

Dawson was brought in during the summer transfer window on a temporary switch following Watford's relegation and it is understood manager David Moyes wants to retain his services beyond the current campaign.

The former West Bromwich Albion defender scored twice for the Hornets after the season restarted but was unable to help them stay in the top flight.
