Tom Cleverley insists Watford need to put together a string of victories if they are to continue pushing for Premier League promotion this season.
The Hornets currently sit sixth in the Championship, but have plans to return to the top flight via the automatic promotion places.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's FA Cup loss to Manchester United, the midfielder said it was important for them to be able to put together a run of wins, with two back-to-back victories the best they have managed so far.
"I think we need to improve in some areas," said Cleverley. "We've yet to put a run together of three or four wins. Back to Back wins is the highest we've done and that's not good enough if we really want to make a charge. Even though we're taking it game by game, we have to put a run together starting as soon as possible."
Cleverley has now spent more time at Watford than any other club and he said that, even though he was objectively more successful at Manchester United, where he won the Premier League, the Hornets were "his club".
"This is my club, even though I have a lot of fond memories of Man United," he said. "When I finally retire looking back, I'll probably say that Watford is the club that had the biggest part to play."
