Watford captain Troy Deeney believes that the Hornets were still showing signs of former head coach Vladimir Ivic's football in their defeat to Swansea City on Saturday.

The Hornets took the lead through Tom Cleverley in the first half before two goals from Jamal Lowe turned the tie in Swansea's favour.

Speaking on TalkSport this morning, the skipper said that they are still used to playing the defensive football Ivic had them playing from the beginning of the season and that it would take a little bit of time to get used to new head coach Xisco Munoz's more attacking philosophy.

"We did well, first 25 minutes, bossed it, got a good goal from Clevz, then went back into our shell a little bit," said Deeney.

"When you've been working under a management team that were one way, so our previous manager was very much control the ball, sit back, soak up the pressure and then we've got a new manager now that is very much front foot, attacking.

"We started well and then we kind of sunk back into old methods, but we've only been with him for what, eight days, nine days, so it's won one, lost one, played Norwich, played Swansea, two very good teams who have been working hard and we weren't great for probably an hour of the game and unfortunately lost. It's part and parcel of the game, you've got to keep going.

"We've been with the new manager for about eight or nine days of working and we need to just stick to it. Some things are working, some things aren't, but we carry on. We've got a few boys coming back hopefully for this weekend against United, which should be good fun."
