Watford are in advanced talks to sign free agent Philip Zinckernagel whose contract with Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt will expire on January 1.

The 26-year-old, who plays as either an attacking midfielder or a winger, earned the title of player of the year as he guided Glimt to the Eliteserien title.

During that campaign, he scored 19 goals and provided 24 assists in a total of 28 appearances.

The Hornets are keen to bolster their attacking midfield options with Tom Dele-Bashiru and Domingos Quina both out injured and Etienne Capoue looking likely to depart.

The Dane is due to have a medical today and is expected to complete the move shortly after.
