Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue is in talks to join Villarreal in the upcoming January transfer window, the Watford Observer understands.
A deal has been discussed in recent days, however suggestions that it has been completed are premature at the moment.
One or two elements of the agreement are still being ironed out, however talks are understood to be progressing positively.
The Frenchman was on the verge of leaving the Hornets following their relegation to the Championship, with a move to Valencia to link up with his former boss Javi Gracia stumbling on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Following that, Capoue struggled for game time under the recently departed head coach Vladimir Ivic, but started in Xisco Munoz's first game in charge at Vicarage Road in Saturday's win over Norwich City.
However it now looks as if that could have been his final performance for the club with the 32-year-old expected to travel to Spain soon to complete the switch.
