Watford defender Christian Kabasele thinks Watford have only themselves to blame for their 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the club website after the match, the Belgian recognised that the Hornets had come up against a difficult opponent, but said that was no excuse and that the draw was simply not good enough.

"I'm upset because for a team with our ambition it is not enough to not win tonight,” said Kabasele

“We want to go back to the Premier League and what we showed today is not enough. We need to do better.

“It’s okay to do it at home but if we want to be first at the end of the season, we need to take more than one point per game away.

“It will be like this every game. Everybody wants to take points against us, so we know what we are facing week in, week out.

Harrow Times:

“We need to be better than that and not make excuses that the other team is compact. We want to win every single game, so we cannot be happy with one point tonight.”

Kabasele will be hoping for better next time out when the Hornets face Cardiff City at home. They will be buoyed by the return of 2,000 fans who are permitted to attend a game at Vicarage Road for the first time since February.

“It’s a moment we were waiting for for so long,” he said. “It’s only 2,000 fans but we will be happy to see them again on Saturday, and again we will play for the three points.

“We have two games in a row at home [Cardiff and Rotherham] so it’s up to us to do our job. I’m looking forward to playing with the fans again and hopefully we will show them a better performance than tonight.”
