Vladimir Ivic described Watford's win over Stoke City as "very important" following a poor run of form that saw his side pick up just two points from three winless matches.
The Hornets came from behind, perhaps in controversial circumstances, before scoring a later winner to seal a 3-2 victory.
Ivic said his side showed focus, worked hard and won the game as a team, rather than through individual endeavour.
"It was a very important three points for us after three games where we took just two points," he said. "In the two games we had the result against Bournemouth, against Wycombe when we stayed with one point. Today we scored in extra time how we conceded the goal against Bournemouth. We need to be focused from the first second until the last second of the game to give our best and to work for the team to win the game. I believe that my players today worked hard, and we won this game like a team.
"Normally we have some of them who score, who got the assists, but I don't like to speak just about some of them. Every time I want to speak about the team, because this for me is most important, to create a group of players who will play for the team, for Watford FC."
