Vladimir Ivic admitted he is concerned as Watford took their winless run to three matches with a 1-0 defeat away at Barnsley.

The Hornets' head coach said the situation was "not good for no one" as he saw his team fail to register a shot on target against the Tykes, who picked up only their second win of the season at Watford's expense.

"We are concerned," he said. "We understand that, it's not good for no one.
"In the previous two games we got a result, but from the six points we took just two points. Today we stayed with the result from the beginning and we couldn't score. Maybe we created some opportunities to score the goals, but without the shots on target. We had three or four good opportunities to to maybe to score one goal and we didn't do it and because of that we are disappointed."

Harrow Times:

Ivic was particularly irked by the way his team conceded with just seven minutes on the clock.

A mistake at the back resulted in Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt picking up some loose possession before firing a screamer into the top corner from 25 yards out.

The error was a result of a lack of confidence, claimed the Hornets' head coach, who again called for improvement.

"It's the beginning of the game, we made the mistake and the guy from Barnsley he scored a fantastic goal," he said. "It was some kind of mistake that they will punish if you do it.

"We must improve we must work faster and better in our build up because we can do it and, you know, this is just confidence.

"Some of our players start this game without confidence and it's created some mistakes. It was two or three mistakes in the first 15, 20 minutes and they have punished us with a with a goal.

"But again, I believe that in the first half and in the second half we had some good movement and good crosses but we didn't do the right movement in the 16 metre and this is something what is not good and we need to improve it."
