Kiko Femenia looks set to follow Troy Deeney and stay at Watford for the upcoming season.

The full-back had been in talks with Spartak Moscow earlier this week, but the Russian side sealed a deal for Victor Moses instead, ending their pursuit of the Hornets defender.

With little time remaining for a deal to be negotiated, sources close to the player now suggest it is highly unlikely he will be heading for the exit door, barring any late dramatic approaches.

Should Femenia stay at the club, their chances of acquiring any new players before this evening's deadline would become increasingly slim, with the Hornets wanting to move players on before they bring anyone else in.

Harrow Times:

Yesterday, head coach Vladimir Ivic said that financially, Watford were not in a position to go out and spend big on any targets.

"The financial situation at the club is not fantastic in this moment because of relegation, because of some other things," said Ivic. "After the relegation, we've started to live with this from the beginning of this season and we need to work, we need to give our best with the squad that we have to fight for every game."
