Kiko Femenia's hopes of leaving Watford are looking increasingly slim as Friday's transfer deadline approaches.
The left-back had been in discussions with Spartak Moscow about a loan move with an obligation to buy, but the Russian side look set to sign Victor Moses instead.
The Watford Observer understands that a left-back is still the club's priority, but that a signing is not likely to be made before players are moved on from Vicarage Road.
Chelsea's Baba Rahman, QPR's Ryan Manning and Cardiff's Joe Bennett have all been considered as viable incoming options, but the club are waiting for departures before any move is considered.
As far as Femenia is concerned, sources close to the player have said that other options are currently being explored, but finding a suitable move away is "difficult" at the moment.
The player would prefer to move on, although he is understood to be open about the possibility of playing for the club and considering his options again in January. He has already featured twice in the Championship so far this season.
