Watford have confirmed that Gerard Deulofeu has joined Udinese on loan for the season.
The Spanish winger quickly became a fan favourite at Vicarage Road following his arrival from Barcelona in January 2018.
During his time with the Hornets he wrote his name into the club's history books by scoring two goals in the FA Cup semi-finals to send them into the final of the competition for the first time since 1984 and by scoring the club's first top flight hat-trick since Mark Falco's in 1986 in a 5-1 win over Cardiff.
At the start of the day it looked likely that Deulofeu would join Fiorentina, but when a deal could not be reached between the two sides, attentions turned to the fellow Pozzo-owned Serie A side.
Whether or not he returns to Watford is likely to depend on their fortunes in the Championship.
Should they get promoted back to the top flight, it is possible that he could once again play in a Watford shirt.
