Watford required penalty shootout heroics from goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann to overcome Oxford United in the Carabao Cup second round.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Daniel Bachmann - 10

A class performance from Bachmann, who made some impressive saves throughout the match and denied Oxford three times during the shootout to send the Hornets through.

Marc Navarro - 6

Played some really positive balls through to Stipe Perica during the match and contributed in attack, but looked a bit shakey defensively.

Francisco Sierralta - 6

A rusty start from the former Udinese man, who has not played for a while. Improvements surely to come.

Derek Agyakwa - 5.5

A difficult debut for the youngster who was hooked at half-time for someone with more experience. A lot was asked of him in the centre of the back three however.

Ben Wilmot - 6

Not as strong a performance as the one he put in against Middlesbrough on Friday. Will be looking to improve on Saturday at Sheffield Wednesday.

Toby Stevenson - 6.5

The pick of the debutants. Was a real threat going forward and his crossing ability really showed. Got caught out in defence on occasion.

Dan Phillips - 5.5

Struggled with the physicality of the match and got a bit lost, especially in the first-half.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 4

Gave the ball away for Oxford's goal and was taken off at half-time. Not a strong display from him.

Domingos Quina - 5.5

Took his penalty well, but still looks off the pace, given what he's produced previously.

Jerome Sinclair - 6

The striker has obviously endeared himself to Ivic and looked lively. Was certainly the best outfield player in the first-half.

Stipe Perica - 5.5

Got into some great positions, but was very wasteful. Needs to sharpen his finishing.

Subs

Ken Sema - 7.5

Injected some much needed threat into the side after coming on. Scored the vital equaliser late on.

Christian Kabasele - 6.5

Steadied the ship at the back with experience and strength.

Joao Pedro - 6

Looked lively and willing in possession. His best is still yet to come however.
