Watford defender Adam Masina will be out until February according to Filippo Giraldi, who spoke to Fiorentina news site Firenze Viola.

The club's technical director said that the full-back had a problem with a tendon that he picked up in the game against Scunthorpe and may not be available for a matter of months.

"Unfortunately he hurt his tendon during the last friendly, kicking, and he'll be out until November. As for him, and the transfer market, we'll talk about it again in January," he said.

Giraldi also spoke about injured winger Gerard Deulofeu, who will likely be on his way this summer.

The former Barcelona man picked up a knee problem during the 3-0 win over Liverpool, which Giraldi claims he would rather have lost, had it meant keeping Deulofeu for the remainder of the season.

While there has been some interest in the player, his injury has put teams off making a move, but Giraldi expects him to head out before the end of the transfer window.

"Deulofeu scored five goals in 28 games with us and got five assists, before getting hurt in the victory against Liverpool," he said.

"I would have preferred to lose but have him in the remaining matches.

"For me he is ready to play in any European team: I'm also sorry to say, because I would like to keep him . The interest is not lacking."
