Domingos Quina was delighted with his performance in Watford's 2-1 friendly win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The midfielder scored the opening goal as the Hornets beat the Premier League side in their final warm-up game before the Championship gets underway with a home fixture against Middlesbrough this Friday.
Speaking to the club website after the match, Quina said: “To come out here against Tottenham and to play like that, I’m happy, and to score a goal like that as well, that just tops it off, so yeah, I’m buzzing.
“They’re a big team and we didn’t have long to prepare, with a lot of new players in the team.
“I had a chance before that on my left foot and I missed it, so when I had another chance I didn’t know what to do, but I saw with the goalkeeper a bit of space to his left side so I just thought I’d try, and luckily it went in.”
This win was Watford's second in pre-season following a 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe the week before.
Quina said the team are feeling good about their form and looking forward to starting their league campaign.
“We’re excited, we’ve been working hard, and we just want it to start now so we can carry on from there,” he said.
“Both games that we played in pre-season have been good. We’ve done the things the manager wanted us to do.
“So, I’m just excited and I can’t wait to start.”
