Troy Deeney has invited his critics to come and "hammer" him after the club's relegation from the Premier League.
In a message shared on his Instagram, the skipper also wished Heurelho Gomes well with his retirement, after the goalkeeper hung up his gloves at the end of the season.
The Brazilian released a message of his own earlier this week, saying he hopes one day he can say a proper goodbye to fans.

Deeney said: "Year of ups & downs which ultimately ended in disappointment for everybody at the club.
"@hdgomes it’s been a pleasure working with you my friend, enjoy retirement. As for the rest of you that have waited years to hammer me the comments are coming in 3,2,1... #blacklivesmatter"
Uncertainty surrounds Deeney's future at the club following the defeat at Arsenal that ultimately confirmed Watford's relegation, with the captain stating: "I honestly don't know if this is going to be my last game at Watford or in the Premier League."
