An improved second-half display from Watford was not enough to prevent them being relegated from the Premier League away at Arsenal on Sunday.

Three first-half goals for the home side were enough to drop the Hornets down into the Championship for next season and here's how we rated their individual performances from a difficult afternoon at the Emirates.

Ben Foster - 6

Made a couple of sharp stops, but could do little to keep the three goals out.

Kiko Femenia - 6

Unlucky to be subbed when he was - one of a handful who looked to attack with purpose in the first-half before his injury.

Craig Dawson - 3

A bull in a China shop performance from Dawson. Gave away a daft penalty in the first minute and should have done more to stop the third goal. Simply not good enough.

Christian Kabasele - 5

Put one or two important blocks, but struggled with Arsenal's attackers. Let down a bit by his partner.

Adam Masina - 5

Got forward well on the left in the second-half, but lacked quality. Should have scored shortly after the restart.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 4

Missed so many passes with his ponderous effort. Lacked urgency and awareness.

Will Hughes - 5

Battled well and made some strong challenges, but didn't contribute a lot to the attack.

Roberto Pereyra - 5

Missed a good chance in the first-half, went missing a bit in the second.

Ismaila Sarr - 6

Set up Welbeck's goal well and almost created a chance that would have given him a second, but for a good save. Overthought a lot of his decisions however and was guilty of not shooting when he needed to.

Troy Deeney - 6

Worked hard in the second-half despite his knee injury. Took his penalty well too, but really should have done better with a late header.

Danny Welbeck - 6.5

Won the penalty from which Deeney scored and took his goal well, but made some bad decisions with other attacks that could have resulted in goals had he shot.

Substitutes

Adrian Mariappa - 5

Was offside on one or two occasions while Watford were in good positions. Was out of his depth trying to attack.

Tom Cleverley, Nathaniel Chalobah, Joao Pedro - N/A

Joined the game too late to make an impact.
