Watford face the threat of relegation back to the Championship this Sunday in their final game of the season against Arsenal.
After five years in the top flight, following a dramatic promotion in 2015, the Hornets may find themselves fighting to ascend to the Premier League once again in a notoriously difficult division.
With that in mind, the Watford Observer thought it would take a look back through some of the highlights of the last five years and some of the problems they have faced this season.
April 24, 2015 - Troy Deeney celebrates his goal at Brighton as Watford sealed promotion back to the Premier League.
A 95th minute strike from Matej Vydra ensured the Hornets took all three points and confirmed their promotion after eight seasons in the second tier.
December 20, 2015 - Odion Ighalo celebrates scoring Watford's third against Liverpool in a 3-0 victory on the end of a four game winning streak.
March 12, 2016 - Deeney and Ighalo celebrate a win away at Arsenal as the Hornets reach the FA Cup semi-final. Ighalo would score 16 goals that season.
September 18, 2016, Juan Camilo Zuniga scores Watford's second in a 3-1 win against Manchester United in the 2016-17 season.
October 16, 2016 - Jose Holebas scores the only goal of the game as Watford beat Middlesbrough.
October 14, 2017 - Tom Cleverley scores a late winner as the Hornets come from behind to beat Arsenal.
February 5, 2018 - Roberto Pereyra adds a fourth as Watford thrash Chelsea.
February 22, 2019 - Gerard Deulofeu scores a hat-trick as the Hornets put five past Cardiff City.
April 7, 2019 - Watford celebrate reaching the FA Cup final after coming from behind to beat Wolves.
The Hornets would go on to pick up just one more win for the remainder of the season, over Championship-bound Huddersfield Town. They are beaten 6-0 in the final by Manchester City.
August 10, 2019 - Brighton put three past the Hornets on the opening day of this season.
Head coach Javi Gracia is fired after just three more games, picking up just one point in the process.
September 21, 2019 - After returning for a second spell as Watford head coach, Quique Sanchez Flores watches his side lose 8-0 at Manchester City in only his second game back.
November 8, 2019 - Watford pick up their first win of the season in their 12th match, away at Norwich City.
November 30, 2019 - The Hornets squander a lead to lose at relegation rivals Southampton. Sanchez Flores is sacked the next day.
December 22, 2019 - Watford pick up their second win the season under head coach number three, Nigel Pearson, beating Manchester United 2-0 in his first home match.
January 12, 2020 - Pearson and Nathaniel Chalobah celebrate a 3-0 victory at Bournemouth the Hornets win three games in a row.
February 29, 2020 - Ismaila Sarr scores twice as Watford beat Liverpool 3-0 and end the would-be champions' 18 game unbeaten run.
March 14, 2020 - Watford's game with Leicester is postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Vicarage Road is used by Watford General Hospital to provide help to NHS staff tackling the pandemic.
June 20, 2020 - Football resumes at Vicarage Road behind closed doors. Watford draw 1-1 with Leicester City in their first game back.
July 4, 2020 - Watford lose 3-0 to Chelsea to complete a five game winless streak.
July 11, 2020 - Watford beat Newcastle to win back-to-back games for the first time since January, seemingly putting them in a strong postition to avoid relegation.
July 17, 2020 - Relegation rivals West Ham score three first-half goals to put Watford back in a difficult position. Nigel Pearson becomes the third head coach to be sacked just two days later.
July 21, 2020 - Watford lose 4-0 at home to Manchester City before Aston Villa beat Arsenal to drop the Hornets back into the relegation zone with just one game remaining of the season.
Watford face Arsenal this Sunday at the Emirates and not only need to pick up a result there, but they also need results elsewhere to go in their favour.
Two teams out of Watford, Bournemouth and Aston Villa will be relegated and only one will avoid the drop.
This could be the end of Watford's five years in the Premier League, unless things go their way this weekend.
