Former Watford boss Giuseppe Sannino has had his contract with Budapest Honved terminated by mutual consent.

Sannino had been temporarily replaced due to coronavirus fears after he had travelled to Italy.

However, on his return to the dugout for a behind closed doors game against Kisvarda, Honved were beaten 5-1.

Today, the club has announced the termination of his contract and that Istvan Pisont will take over temporarily.

“In light of the current situation, Giuseppe Sannino has terminated his contract by mutual agreement with the managers of Honved,” the club said in an official statement.

“The coach Valerio Zuddas will remain until April 30, the rest will return to their home country over the weekend.

“Istvan Pisont will temporarily take on the role of Sannino. Preparing players for future matches according to individual training plans, together with coach Zuddas, during the break.

“Honved FC would like to thank the whole staff for the excellent work and wish everyone the best for the future.”

Sannino was in charge of Watford during the 2013-14 season.
