Watford let a lead slip for a third consecutive Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening, keeping them in the bottom three for the winter break.

Here's how we rated their individual performances:

Ben Foster - 6

Rarely called upon and could do little to prevent the own goal that ended up costing the Hornets. Made a good save to deny Aaron Mooy in the second half.

Adrian Mariappa - 4

Aside from the own goal, Mariappa had a decent enough game, but the hapless fashion with which he put the ball into his own net was absolutely baffling.

Craig Cathcart - 7

A much improved match from the Northern Irishman following a dismal showing against Everton.

Christian Kabasele - 7

Rock solid in the centre of defence, prevented Glenn Murray from getting any joy in the centre.

Adam Masina - 6

Not a bad game, but gave Alireza Jahanbakhsh a bit too much space to get the cross in for the equaliser.

Will Hughes - 6

A positive enough return from the midfielder, who broke up play well in the centre of the pitch and worked hard throughout.

Etienne Capoue - 7

Consistently intercepted Brighton's passes and his alertness created Watford's goal.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 7

Took his goal exceptionally well, but faded in the second-half and produced little else other than that one standout moment.

Gerard Deulofeu - 6

Tracked back well and once again showed some of the good work ethic Nigel Pearson has got out of him. However, creatively he was disappointing.

Roberto Pereyra - 6

A very similar game to Deulofeu in that he actually worked hard defensively. Just failed to produce in attack.

Troy Deeney - 5

A frustrating performance from the skipper who looked isolated for large parts of the game. Not entirely his fault, but he was unable to get on the ball as much as he would have liked.
