Out-on-loan Watford defender Dimitri Foulquier has reached the semi-finals of the Spanish Copa del Rey with Granada after their 2-1 victory over Valencia last night.

The full-back played the full 90 minutes as two goals from former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado sent them through to the next stage of the competition.

A 94th minute penalty won the tie after Soldado's goal in the third minute was cancelled out by Rodrigo's equaliser.

It is the first time Granada have reached the semi-finals of the competition since 1969.

Foulquier, who is on loan with the Spanish club until the end of the season, has featured eight times for them since making the move from Vicarage Road, four times in the Copa del Rey and another four in the league.

The 26-year-old was signed from Granada back in 2017 but has since spent time on loan with both Strasbourg and Getafe.

He was handed his Premier League debut for the Hornets under Quique Sanchez Flores earlier this season, but was substituted after just 33 minutes in a punishing 8-0 defeat to Manchester City.
