Watford will make the trip to Tranmere Rovers for their FA Cup third round replay a week today (Tuesday, January 14), it has been confirmed.
It means Hornets fans face the prospect of two away trips in three days following the Premier League game at Bournemouth on Sunday.
Nigel Pearson’s much-changed side looked like they were easing through to round four when goals from Tom Dele-Bashiru, Nathaniel Chalobah and Roberto Pereyra gave them a 3-0 advantage at half-time in last Saturday's original tie.
However, second-half efforts from Connor Jennings, Manny Monthe and a late penalty from substitute Paul Mullin ensured the League One strugglers will get a second bite at upsetting their top-flight opponents next week.
The second meeting will kick-off at 7.45pm at Prenton Park, with a home tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers or Manchester United awaiting the winners in round four.
Their replay will take place 24 hours later on Wednesday, January 15 at Old Trafford.
