Watford have, as expected, confirmed that Craig Shakespeare has joined Nigel Pearson’s backroom team as assistant head coach.
The 56-year-old previously worked alongside the new Hornets’ boss at West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City and Hull City and was assistant to Claudio Ranieri for the Foxes’ Premier League-winning season in 2015/16.
Shakespeare went on to manage Leicester in 2017, having taken caretaker charge following Ranieri’s dismissal, and also worked alongside Sam Allardyce for England and Everton.
Further additions will be made to Pearson’s coaching team, with former Hornets captain John Eustace being tipped for a potential return to Vicarage Road as part of the backroom staff. He is currently at Queens Park Rangers.
