Steven Alzate will not be playing alongside James Rodriguez if he does feature in the friendly against Peru early tomorrow morning (1.30am).

The Colombian FA put out the following statement regarding a knee injury Rodriguez picked up in training on Thursday: "During training this Thursday, in an accidental move, James Rodriguez complained of a discomfort in his left knee.

"The player was evaluated by the medical body and his first diagnosis is reserved.

"For now and as a precaution, Rodriguez is ruled out for the match against Peru."

The Albion midfielder hopes to feature in the friendly against Peru in Miami.

Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma said of Alzate: “I think he is in a great moment to be here and he needs to show what he has been showing in the Premier League.”
