Watford's Goodison Park hoodoo continued on Tuesday evening as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Everton.

The Hornets only created one shot on target throughout the entirety of the match and a solid-looking defense wilted under an improved Everton performance in the second-half.

Here's how we rated their performances.

Heurelho Gomes - 6

The Brazilian didn't do a lot wrong, but over-committed for the first goal.

Kiko Femenia - 5

The full-back still has too many mistakes in his game. He looked nervous, especially after the introduction of Theo Walcott, who ran him ragged after the break. Also created very little going forward.

Craig Cathcart - 6

Had a very solid first-half and made two vital interceptions when Femenia had allowed players to get in round the back.

Sebastian Prodl - 6

Looked a little unfit after his injury, but still performed admirably - cutting out balls over the top and making one or two important blocks.

Adrian Mariappa - 5

A somewhat panicked performance from Mariappa, who looked a bit out of his depth. Was fortunate to not get booked earlier on in the game after some clumsy fouls.

Dimitri Foulquier - 5.5

Made some good runs forward early on, but became anonymous fairly quickly. Left some big gaps in the second-half.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 5

After a commanding performance against Spurs the week before last, this was well below what fans know he is capable of.

Didn't assert much authority on the game and his passing was lacking in accuracy.

Domingos Quina - N/A

Quina's night ended before the game had even reached the midway point in the first-half.

He had looked sharp and creative until then.

Will Hughes - 5.5

Showed rare glimpses of creativity, but still ought to have done a lot more to link play between defenders and attackers.

Andre Gray - 4

Worked hard, but offered little. As was the case at the weekend, was playing a system in which he is largely ineffective. Made some poor decisions as well.

Roberto Pereyra - 4.5

Had a similar night to Gray and the stats prove it. Should have created much more.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 4

Looked disinterested after coming on. Wasted a very clear chance to create a goal-scoring opportunity.

Christian Kabasele - 4.5

A performance lacking the compsure the Belgian has shown over the last two games. Looked a bit erratic after coming on.

Gerard Deulofeu - 4.5

Made poor decisions and no real positive impact.
