Harrow Borough exited the FA Cup after a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Carshalton Athletic.

Christie Pattisson scored the only goal of the game after 25 minutes to send the visitors through, where they will face Lowestoft Town away from home.

Borough started slowly and were lucky to not be behind after two minutes when Ricky Korboa beat Shaun Preddie to the ball but saw his effort bounce back off the post.

Carshalton kept up the pressure throughout the half and it finally told when Pattisson’s curling effort from the edge of the box went in off the post.

The hosts finally began to apply some pressure of their own towards the end of the half and should have levelled through Jordan Ireland, but he was unable to supply the finishing touch after Michael Bryan’s corner had been missed by the Carshalton goalkeeper.

Borough had plenty of chances to pull level in the second half but found their finishing to be wayward.

Bryan had their best opportunity of the game but fired wide, and Preddie’s cross/shot was easily kept out.

Defeat for the hosts sees them exit the competition, and they return to Southern League Premier South action tomorrow night when they welcome Blackfield and Langley.
