Harrow Borough recorded an entertaining 4-3 victory over Potters Bar Town in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.

George Fenton and Adam Pepera gave Borough an early advantage, while a brace from Ant O’Connor ensured a late fightback from Potters Bar was only in vain.

It took only four minutes for Fenton to break the deadlock, racing through despite claims of offside to make it 1-0.

The hosts extended their lead six minutes later when Bar conceded a silly free-kick, and Pepera was there to convert from the delivery and put Borough firmly in control during the early stages.

Shortly after though, a mistake in the Borough defence allowed Potters Bar to pull one back, and the finish was eventually provided by Yiannis Constantinou.

The goals kept coming and by the half an hour mark, Harrow restored their two-goal advantage when a cross from the wing was met by O’Connor, and he easily headed in.

O’Connor completed his brace within a minute of the restart after half-time, seizing on a poor back pass to round the goalkeeper and make it four for Borough.

James Budden pulled one back for the visitors in the 83rd minute, heading in at the far post from a deep free kick.

And it was made to be a nervy finish for the home side when Bar made it 4-3 through a stunning effort from Ryan Young. He cut inside from the wing and planted an effort right into the top corner.

It was just about too little too late, however, and Borough held on to record the win.
