Watford striker Jerome Sinclair looks to be heading to the Netherlands on loan for the upcoming season, according to Oxford United manager, Karl Robinson.

United had been keen to sign Sinclair on a temporary basis again after his loan move there in January.

However, the 22-year-old, looks to prefer a move abroad for the upcoming season, despite more money being on offer in Oxford.

"We believe Jerome is going to Holland, even though we offered more than the Dutch club," Robinson told the Witney Gazette.

“We did everything we had to do. We were told if we matched that (the Dutch offer) then it would be done.

“We more than matched it, so I was really happy with the fact the board had that clout to do so.”

Sinclair spent the first half of last season on loan with League One Sunderland, scoring once in 13 appearances.

The striker joined the Hornets in 2016 from Liverpool and has also spent time on loan at Birmingham City since his arrival.
