Watford are not in talks to sign West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson, the Watford Observer understands.

Several reports had linked the Hornets with a move for the centre-back, with some suggesting discussions had taken place between the two clubs regarding the transfer.

However, the Watford Observer has since been told that these reports are wide of the mark and that Dawson is not being viewed as a target for this transfer window.

The 29-year-old has one year left on his current contract and is believed to be searching for a move away from the Baggies.

He has previously played alongside Hornets' goalkeeper Ben Foster, who made the move to Vicarage Road from the Hawthorns last summer, but the two are unlikely to be linking up again this summer.

Elsewhere, various reports have linked Watford with a big money move for Rennes forward Ismaila Sarr, who scored 12 goals last season.

Sarr, who was part of Senegal's World Cup squad last summer, would cost the Hornets a fee in the region of £30million, with two years still remaining on his current contract.

Additionally, Korean defender Kim Min Jae has also been reportedly interesting Watford once again, after the player was heavily linked with a move to the club in January.
