Watford’s youngsters are set to play a total of five matches in pre-season, with three games “likely to be open to the public”.

The Hornets have released their friendly scheduled for the Under-23s, starting with a game against Milton Keynes Dons at Bisham Abbey on Tuesday, July 16 (kick-off to be confirmed).

Next up is a trip to Wealdstone on Saturday, July 20 (3pm) followed by another short journey to St Albans City on Wednesday, July 24 (7.45pm).

The Under-23’s pre-season preparations are due to continue at Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday, July 30 before concluding with a friendly at Reading on Saturday, August 3 (tbc).

Watford state the games at Wealdstone, St Albans and Wingate are “likely to be open to the public” and further details will be released in due course.

The Under-18s are also scheduled to play five friendlies, starting at Stevenage on Saturday, July 13 (11am).

They are also due to face MK Dons at Bisham Abbey on July 16 (tbc) before making the trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, July 27 (12pm).

A home game against Cambridge United follows on Wednesday, July 31 (11am) before, like the Under-23s, they play a final friendly at Reading on August 3 (tbc).
