Watford defender Craig Cathcart has been named International Player of the Year at the Northern Ireland Football Writers awards.
Cathcart, who has 43 caps for Northern Ireland, has impressed for both club and country this season, helping Watford to reach this Saturday’s FA Cup Final.
The defender has scored three goals for Javi Gracia’s side and helped Northern Ireland to two wins out of a possible two in the opening Euro 2020 qualifying games.
Cathcart said on winning the award: “It means a lot especially after a long hard season, to come away with something at the end is something really nice.”
The Manchester United graduate beat Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis and Leeds United's Stuart Dallas to the award.
