Watford had to suffer in order to get three points against Huddersfield Town and climb up into seventh place according to Javi Gracia.

Speaking after the game, the Hornets' head coach praised the home side for making the game difficult and spoke about the effort his side had to put in to come away with the victory.

"Huddersfield played, in my opinion, a good game," he said.

"They showed their pride and I want to be very respectful with that team. They're living a very difficult situation and for Huddersfield today it's not an easy game. It's difficult to play in these circumstances.

"In the beginning we had possession, we had control of the game, scoring the first goal and after that we tried to kill game, but didn't do it.

"In those minutes we were suffering because in one set piece, or in one counter attack they could score."

Gracia once again praised the contribution of Gerard Deulofeu and said the former Barcelona man is currently an important player for the team.

However, he said if the Hornets are to achieve something "special" this season, they need their whole squd to be working well together.

He said: "He's scoring important goals and very good goals.

"All goals are good for me, but in this moment I think Gerard is scoring and he is living an important moment for him and for the team, helping the team with his goals.

"In other moments he didn't score, but always he plays with good commitment and he tries to help the team.

"There are five games left to finish and when we are in the position we are, it's always important to get the points that are in play, and always we try to get the points.

"We are living different moments at the minute with players out of the team with injuries.

"We need all of our players to keep going and keep playing and we can achieve these kinds of things, when you really are a team and living all the season as a team."
