Premier Division

The fight for the Premier Division title looks to be a two-horse race between champions Oakview and Reed Rangers.

Both sides enjoyed narrow wins on Sunday to leave Oakview two points ahead of their closest rivals after the same number of games played.

Oakview were given a big fright by Chorleywood Club, who went into the game in third place in the table and were narrowly beaten 2-1.

Chorleywood keeper Matt Evans saved an early penalty, but in a tight contest it was Oakview who went ahead after 35 minutes when Luke Beardsworth set up Luke Lloyd to fire in from 15 yards out.

However, their opponents were to get back on terms just before the break when Ryan McMahon coolly slotted home a penalty.

The game was decided on the hour when Spencer Bellotti squared for Beardsworth to flick the ball past Evans from close range for the winner and his third goal in two games.

Rangers did what they needed to keep up the pressure on the leaders, but they did it the hard way against strugglers Rickmansworth Town, winning 3-2.

Reed started the game well enough, opening the scoring after five minutes when a Jamie Speer pass into the box from the right side found Louis Bircham, who finished well.

Rangers then struck both the bar and post before Rickmansworth pulled level midway through the half when a loose ball was swept home by S. Bailey.

Early in the second half Reed were reduced to 10 men, but they went back in front on the hour when Speer scored with a shot from outside the area.

Bailey equalised for a second time 10 minutes later from a free-kick, but the winner was to arrive in the last 10 minutes when Charlie Barton ran down the left and beat two defenders before rifling a shot into the net.

Evergreen’s third win of the season, 3-1 over Old Danes Athletic, means they have put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.

The game was won thanks to a hat-trick from Ben Adams, with all his goals coming in the opening 20 minutes.

The first came from a run down the right by Al Jokiel, whose cross to the far post was headed home by Adams.

The second came when Matt Smart played the ball into his teammate, who went past the centre back and slotted home.

Smart turned provider again for Adams to complete his quick-fire treble when he ran onto a pass and fired into the bottom corner.

Old Danes battled back in the second half, with Scott Volker lobbing the ball over the onrushing keeper, but there was to be no comeback.

A single goal from Hugh Trayte was enough for Rifle Volunteer to beat bottom-placed St Josephs and move his team up into third place in the table.

Division One

The fight for the Division One title is shaping up to be a three-horse race.

Leaders FC Woodside opened up a five-point lead after a 3-1 victory over mid-table Cassiobury Rangers, although they have played more games than their pursuers, Tudor Athletic and FC Unicorn.

Sam Parker gave Woodside an early lead and a second followed when Michael Griffin tapped home after a Danny Roberts shot came back off the post.

Parker should have completed a hat-trick after the break, seeing two efforts cleared off the line and also striking the inside of the post, but Griffin sealed the win when he raced onto a through ball to fire home. Gary Wood pulled a goal back late on for Rangers.

Tudor dropped points as they were held to a 3-3 draw by North Watford.

Grant Avis volleyed Tudor ahead before North Watford equalised before half-time through Shoaib Ali with an effort from some 40 out that caught out the goalkeeper.

After missing several good chances in the second half, Tudor went behind when Grant Avis gave away a penalty which was slotted home by Carlos Alberto.

Jack Robertson equalised before a defensive mix-up allowed Saqib Ahmed to restore North Watford’s lead with 10 minutes remaining.

But with time running out Robertson scored a second to rescue the draw, although Tudor will regard it as two points dropped which could be crucial come the end of the season.

FC Unicorn did what they needed to do with a 2-1 win over Croxley.

Ralph Tamplin gave Unicorn the lead when Michael McMananmon’s through ball enabled his teammate to find the net.

However, the lead was shortlived when from a Croxley corner, Leroy Odle met it with a bullet header to equalise.

Unicorn missed second-half chances to win the game against a determined Croxley side, but with time running out Matt Owens netted the winner.

Jamie Calvin ran the width of the 18-yard box across the face of goal, beating the last man and hanging a cross into the box, which was met by the head of Callum O’Connor who flicked it on for Owens to stab the ball home and keep Unicorn right in the title hunt.

AFC Bedmond are up into fourth place after a 4-0 home victory over Bushey Sports Club.

Danny Brennan, Lamar St Cyr and an own goal put Bedmond well in charge at the break.

Bushey had two players dismissed after the break, but despite their numerical advantage Bedmond could only add one further goal from Kevin Mitchell.

Division Two

The Tree moved into second place in the table after a 3-1 win over Bushey Rangers, who they leapfrogged with this win.

Harry Rush scored a double and Jack Hodgins the other. Stephen King replied for Bushey, who have now lost two and drawn one of their last three games.

Ardent beat Ripstone 2-1 to move up from second bottom and close within a point of their opponents, whose title hopes were all but been ended by this defeat.

After a goalless first half Billy Lobjoit put Ardent head. However, Tim Wilson equalised with a fine solo effort and Craig Clark netted the winner with eight minutes left for the home side.

Division Three

The game of the season so far at the top of the table saw leaders AFC Leavesden and second-placed Woodlands United draw 3-3.

Leavesden twice came back from behind to take a point, with the goals coming from Ozzie Ogbebor and a brace from Lucas Halligan including a fine finish into the top right-hand corner.

Klevis Dervishi also netted twice for Woodlands, with Matt Bower getting their other goal.

Third-placed Oxhey Athletic beat ACS Milan 5-0 thanks to a Charlie Coe double and one goal each for Liam Coles, Jordan Aston-Woods and Jack Browse.

The other big winners were Chess United who put six unanswered goals past NW FC.

Matt Hargreaves led the way with a hat-trick, Luke Mitchell netted a double and Ben Bugeja completed the scoring.

In the game between two of the strugglers, Inter and Batchworth, it was the home side who ran out 3-0 winners through goals from Chris Stead, Alex Heyward and Daniel Brand.

Division Four

The top two both enjoyed easy home wins.

Leaders Hews beat Skyline 5-1 thanks to Chris Dunn with two, Nathan Pooley, Luke Potchetty and Liam Doran. Jordan Austin replied for Skyline.

The Victoria enjoyed a 4-1 win over RBL Croxley through a brace apiece from Dan Bourne and Todd Armstrong, with Will Keddy getting the RBL consolation.

White Horse have a second point of the campaign after a 3-3 draw against Sun Postal Sports.

Floyd Thompson, Ralph Thompson and Kanchanaphum Phanuthi got the White Horse goals, with the home side replying through a Ben Dunton double and one from Ben Williams.
