Will Hughes looks likely to miss out on Watford's Premier League match against Burnley this weekend, but Andre Gray is back and ready to face his former club.

Head coach Javi Gracia said he is "not optimistic" about the former Derby midfielder's chances of playing in the match, but thinks the squad is in a good position otherwise, with Sebastian Prodl the only other player to be ruled out.

He said: "We will see what happens with Will Hughes because after the last game he is not training in this moment with the team.

"It's a concussion. There was an elbow, so we need to wait at the moment. He didn’t feel well and we preferred to make the substitution.

"For him, playing in the next two days, I’m not optimistic.

"Kabasele is training with the team. All the rest of the players are available. Andre is training with the team and he is available for the next game."

Having seen future opponents Newcastle and Tottenham lose key players to injury recently, Gracia is keen to hold on to as much of his squad as possible.

With the Hornets pushing to keep themselves in seventh and a run in the FA Cup still a realistic possibility, Gracia is reluctant to let any of his players go out on loan.

He said: "When you have a longer squad, sometimes you think some players for three, four, five months, it will be better to be on loan.

"I’m sure in the next games we will have some problems, some injuries.

"After seeing Newcastle against Blackburn, they make one substitution and after a few minutes they make another substitution and one of the other players is injured.

"In this moment I prefer to prepare to be focused for the next games and if they are with us like the rest of the team, we will try to be competitive with these players because I’m sure we are going to need them in the next games."
