Watford defender Kiko Femenia is happy with how the club has started the new year and wants to give the fans more to cheer about in 2019.

The Spaniard was involved in the Hornets' victory over Crystal Palace last weekend and was pleased with the way the side came from behind.

Speaking to the club website, he said: "Crystal Palace played a great game and they are usually strong at home, so it's a great win for us.

"Especially with the goal that we conceded from the corner - we are disappointed with that - but it was a great turnaround.

"We are very happy with the win and very happy with how we have started the new year.”

Burnley are the Hornets' next opponents and Femenia thinks it is important for the club to maintain their current steady progress.

The Golden Boys have lost just one of their last eight matches in all competitions and have climbed up to seventh in the Premier League.

Femenia said: "We know the Premier League season is very long and everything can change very quickly, so we must be ready and we must do our best for the next game.

"We always try to make them [the supporters] happy, we are very happy with them for the support they give us every game.

"Hopefully we can give them more things to enjoy."
