Watford U23s beat Colchester United 3-0 on Friday, with goals from Michael Folivi, Harry Forster and Dan Phillips securing a fourth win from the last eight matches.

The Hornets produced a dominant display in which goalkeeper Dante Baptiste was rarely tested.

At the other end, Forster was in fine form, supplying the first for Folivi, scoring the second himself and finally setting up Phillips for the third in the second half.

The 18-year-old had a first-half effort saved, hit the post and had a shot cleared off the line in a game where the score could have been much higher.

A Folivi penalty miss also prevented a fourth being added, but in the end, three proved to be more than enough.

Following the game, Hayden Mullins, Lead Under-23 Professional Development Coach, said that the result was a significant bonus on top of a pleasing performance.

He told the club website: "The challenge is to always play the way you want and I think we know that if we approach games in the right way and we get the kind of performance and focus from the boys, we are happy regardless of the result."
