Watford FC Girls Under-18s closed the gap at the top of the Greater London Women’s League Division Three North to only four points after a 3-0 home victory over leaders East London Ladies.

Phoebe Peters, Tiarna Reid and Nicole Leys were the scorers in the victory.

With two games in hand over their rivals for top spot, Watford will be looking to mount a challenge for first place in the table in 2019.

The Under-9 Greens travelled to Bedwell Rangers Athletico where Olive Mitchell and Amelia Baskiewicz both scored hat-tricks, Daisy-May Bird netted twice and Drew Brady also struck.

The Yellows travelled to nearby Garston Ladies Pumas and despite creating many chances, they were unable to make the breakthrough.

The Under-10s hosted Ruislip Rangers and Elisha Price scored Watford’s only goal in a fine advert for girls football.

Watford Under-11s were also at home to Denham United Wildcats and Solange Brellier (3), Sarah Zaoui (2), Erin O’Conner (2), Zara Labastide and Kiahna Atkins were all on target for the hosts.

Sundai Amele and Victoria Lussambo both scored five each for the Under-12s against Garston Ladies Leopards, with Chloe Manning scoring the other two in a 12-0 home victory.

The Under-16s rounded off their year with a 5-1 home win over St Albans City Youth.

Full-back Katie Gavin scored her first ever goal for the club, with Amy Holdcroft, Leah Knapp, Nicole Madell and Charli O’Connor also netting.
