Gerard Deulofeu is in line to start against Wolverhampton Wanderers but Nathaniel Chalobah is suffering with a minor knee complaint.

Fresh from making his England debut on Monday, Chalobah was seen at the Watford training ground with a brace on the same knee he fractured last September.

Gracia confirmed the problem, while not major, could prevent the 23-year-old being involved at Molineux on Saturday.

Deulofeu, meanwhile, has benefitted from two weeks of training on the back of making his return to first-team action with a cameo showing in the 4-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth ahead of the international break.

The winger, who joined Watford from Barcelona on a permanent basis in the summer, is an option to start even if he may not have the fitness to perform to his highest level.

Gracia said: “I think he is ready to start. In this moment, he is not in the best condition and I do not know if he is ready to play at his best level, but he is ready to start.”

The news of Chalobah’s fitness concern comes after a memorable week for the midfielder who came on late in England’s 3-2 win over Spain.

Gracia was quick to praise the former Chelsea man and spoke of his delight at Chalobah making the step up to the senior England side.

He said: “I am very glad for his debut and I think he deserves the opportunity to play.

“For me, he is a great player and we have enjoyed him and are very proud he played.”
